Senator Hoffmann talked about the kickoff of the new Legislatuve Session during Kathy Denman's "Central New York's Morning Views" M-F 9-10am on WSYR Radio. She also offered her reaction to Governor Pataki's State of the State Message delivered January 8, 2003. Senator Hoffmann agreed to take calls from listeners on any subject.

Callers were interested in the latest developments in the snowmobile insurance crisis. Senator Hoffmann was able to report a late development that the crisis, at least temporarily, had been resolved and the closed snowmobile trails would soon reopen.

Callers to "Central New York Morning Views" also wanted to know why the Legislature has so much trouble passing a budget by the April 1st deadline. Senator Hoffmann explained that very often unrelated issues, like rent control in NYC, are raised by Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, who uses enacting a budget as a bargaining tool.

Senator Hoffmann and Kathy Denman relaxing after the show. Kathy is originally from Niagara Falls, NY and started her radio career in Buffalo. She moved to Syracuse to join Metro Networks, a company that provides news, weather, traffic, and sports to client radio stations. She joined WSYR Radio first as their morning drive traffic reporter and then developed what's become a popular mid-morning talk show prompting several letters to area newspapers.
