Callers were interested in the latest developments in the snowmobile insurance crisis. Senator Hoffmann was able to report a late development that the crisis, at least temporarily, had been resolved and the closed snowmobile trails would soon reopen. |
Callers to "Central New York Morning Views" also wanted to know why the Legislature has so much trouble passing a budget by the April 1st deadline. Senator Hoffmann explained that very often unrelated issues, like rent control in NYC, are raised by Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, who uses enacting a budget as a bargaining tool. |
