Events & Activities - $800,000 to promote Agritourism & Education in rural CNY - December 19, 2002

 

 

The Agritourism and Education Program, created by Senator Nancy Larraine Hoffmann, is being tripled in size with 15 more counties now included in the growing Agritourism Trail.

During a news conference December 19, 2002 at Crtiz Farms in Cazenovia, Senator Hoffmann explained over $800,000 is now available to farmers in 22 counties to expand and diversify their businesses. Grant awards will be announced in the Spring of 2003.

Senator Hoffmann, Dick Warner (member of the Board of RC&D, Resource Conservation and Development, adminstrators of the Agritourism Program), and Matthew Critz of Critz Farms, named the Agribusiness of the Year in New York State and recipient of a $10,000 grant in the first round.
