Events & Activities - Senator Announces State Grant To Benefit MOST - December 19, 2002

 

 

"Thousands upon thousands of school children and other visitors have been enriched by their exposure to science and technology at the MOST. Syracuse continues to be on the cutting edge of this exciting museum concept with the IMAX theater and great interactive exhibits. The MOST is a remarkable treasure in a city the size of Syracuse and is deserving of community and state support," said Senator Nancy Larraine Hoffmann as she awarded the MOST a $100,000 state grant December 19, 2002 just before a preview showing of the new IMAX version of The Lion King for an audience of 200 youngsters and their parents.

The MOST became Central New York's first hands-on science museum 21 years ago in a storefront location not far from its current home in the former State Armory Building.

The MOST is not only the area's largest hands-on science center but also features the Bristol Omnitheater, upstate's only IMAX Dome theater, the Silverman Planetarium, and the Rotary and Glason Theaters, as well as permanent and traveling exhibits.
