Events & Activities - Continued commitment to Jowonio School - October 24, 2002

 

 

Senator Hoffmann, a long time friend and supporter of Jowonio School, announced a $100,000 grant to the school's Capital Campaign.

The grant will assist with the purchase and renovation costs for their new building.

Jowonio School, established in 1969, has become a regional authority on inclusive education, a teaching method that integrates special needs and typical children in the classroom environment.


Senator Hoffmann talks with Jowonio School co-founder Peter Knoblock before the Senator's grant presentation. Senator Hoffmann has been involved with the Jowonio School since she represented the 5th District on the Syracuse Common Council.

Senator Hoffmann with Jowinio School Board Chair Ed Polly, Jowonio School Principal Ellen Barnes and Phillip Foster, President of the Friends For Jowonio campaign. Friends for Jowonio are raising $1.6 million for renovations for the new building.
