"I'm proud to represent Central New York Agriculture," Senator Nancy Larraine Hoffmann said, while greeting Vernon Verona Sherrill Future Farmers of America students who carried signs in the Oneida County Fair parade thanking her for supporting agriculture.
An ardent proponent of the rural economy, Hoffmann added, "Many people downstate, and in other parts of our great state, need to be reminded of the vital role that Central New York's Agriculture Industry plays in our local and state economy."
"The kids wanted to show their support for the Senator," said Keith Schiebel, Agriculture Teacher at VVS and Advisor for the FFA students, "Agriculture is the backbone of our state’s economy. These students are the next generation of agricultural entrepreneurs. Throughout her career, the Senator has been there time and again for her constituents. She supports the number one industry in New York State, Agriculture -- so we support Senator Hoffmann."
“It is particularly heartwarming to see the young people who spend long hours producing this wonderful New York maple syrup, as well as those grooming their livestock for competition, said Hoffmann. “They are the future of farming in our State.
