Events & Activities - Â "It's a Publisher's Life"- Syracuse New Times Publisher Art Zimmer's 20th Anniversary - May 7, 2004

 

 

Senator Hoffmann was on hand with friends, family and co-workers of Art Zimmer as they celebrated his 20th anniversary as Publisher of the Syracuse New Times.

Musical entertainment was provided by "Street Corner", a 1950s and 1960s Show Band specializing in rock, rhythm and doo-wop.

Senator Hoffmann and Bob "Bob Barker" Longo. Bob Longo is famous for his hot dog carts seen around the city and here he is showing why he is equally famous for his wicked jitterbug.

Senator Hoffmann and Art Zimmer hold a New York State Senate Proclamation dedicated to Art Zimmer, which the Senator had just finished reading aloud to the audience.

Syracuse New Times Promotions Manager Michael Connor presented Art Zimmer and his wife Shirley, a gift from the Syracuse New Times staff.

Senator Hoffmann has been featured in many articles as well as pictured on several covers of the Syracuse New Times during Art Zimmer's 20 year tenure. Most recently, in 2000 she was pictured on the cover with her two oxen, Woody and Riley, in an article entitled "Political Animal".
